It's been about a month since we moved from Las Vegas to Issaquah, WA! I can't believe it's only been a month, to me this feels like home. Las Vegas never felt like home, despite being there for almost 10 years.
My heart aches for my friends back in Las Vegas, I've made some friendships that I know will last, even with many miles between us. However, I can't find words to perfectly describe Washington and how happy our little family is here. From the moment I flew up to buy our home I knew this was home, I knew I never wanted to leave. (Despite real estate prices being about triple that of Vegas) The scenery is almost unreal, the beauty is breathtaking everyday. I love that my hair is frizzy, my skin is moist and people stroll about in the "rain". There are trails galore around our home with protected green belts behind us. There's an abundance of fabulous coffee shops and play activities for the kiddos. The school Katelyn attends is beyond my wildest dream, it's her first time attending a completely public school and we are thankful for such an amazing school district.
Brent has settled into civilian life and hasn't looked back, he is happy to have left the military and so am I ! For once he is valued and encouraged, in the military he was belittled daily. I am thankful for a happy husband who comes home with a smile and feels like he's actually doing something, rather than running like a hamster on a wheel. He's already applied to graduate school and hopefully by Spring he will either be going to Boston University or Penn State pursuing a masters degree in IT security. My heart is full of joy seeing how much he's grown and how happy he is to be working in a field he truly enjoys.
The kids seem to love it here as much as we do, and now that Katelyn is here she's a strong supporter of Seattle and Washington as well :)
Below are some pictures from our first day arriving at our new home.
